Brocade's Ruckus Wireless, Inc. today announced two new ZoneFlex® products, the ZoneFlex R610 Indoor Wireless Base Station (AP) and the ZoneFlex T610 Outdoor AP. Both use the IEEE 802.11ac Wave 2 standard and feature multi-user MIMO technology to maximize the air-to-air transmission efficiency of the client device and increase the convergence rate of the network, even in high-density indoor and outdoor environments.
"The Ruckus ZoneFlex R610 AP provides secure connectivity, whether it's audio streaming, payment for transactions, social media interactions, or simply browsing the Web," said Denton Meier, technology director at Firefly Technologies, a Ruckus-based Washington-based partner. "We installed several R610s in two high-volume gymnasiums and on the local Pybus public marketplace. The R610 is an indoor Wave 2 11ac 3x3: 3 AP equipped with a USB interface to support future IoT applications. The R610 provides a transmission rate of 1,900 Mbps to meet the requirements of the ZoneFlex R510 Wave 2 2x2: 2 AP and R710 Wave 2 4x4: 4 AP.
The T610 is an outdoor Wave 2 11ac 4x4: 4 AP with a field-installable USB interface to support future IoT applications. The T610 is positioned between the ZoneFlex T300 Wave 1 2x2: 2 outdoor AP and the T710 Wave 2 4x4: 4 AP and provides a 2.5Gbps transfer rate.
The R610 is designed to provide the high transfer rates required for high-density environments, whether it is a high-school facility that wants to provide online digital learning to more than 30 students in a classroom, or to synchronize HD video streams at large auditoriums R610 is available for universities that send hundreds of student devices. T610 is suitable for high-density outdoor environment, such as intelligent city can use T610, for hundreds of users with wireless network, while smart meters and public facilities.
The addition of these two new APs gives Ruckus the industry's most complete portfolio of 802.11ac Wave 2 products. The new AP can be managed through any Ruckus control and management platform, including existing SmartZone and ZoneDirector, as well as the upcoming Ruckus Cloud Wi-Fi platform in December.
