System-on-module built around Intel Agilex 5 E FPGA

Sunday,Jan 14,2024

iWave has announced the launch of a modular system built on Intel Agilex 5 E-Series FPGAs that supports artificial intelligence algorithms.

The iW-RainboW-G58M measures 60 x 70mm and can be used with any of the 5 E-series ICs in the Intel B32A (32x32mm) package.

“The Agilex 5 system-on-module is an ideal building block for equipment used in wireless communications, video, broadcast, and industrial test and measurement,” iWave said. “The SoM supports 24 transceivers up to 28 Gbps, a PCIe Gen 4 connectivity interface, and A 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet PHY transceiver.”

Additional features (depending on model) may include: Dual-core 1.8GHz 64-bit Arm Cortex-A76, Dual-core 64-bit 1.5GHz Cortex-A55, up to 656,000 logic cells, 4Gbyte LPDDR4 for HPS, FPGA Dual 4G-byte LPDDR4, 32G-byte eMMC and 1Gbit QSPI configuration flash memory.

The evaluation board provides interface connectors and other support for the SoM, including: 2.5Gbit Ethernet RJ45, Gbit Ethernet RJ45, PCIe Gen4 x4, 20-pin headers for UART, SPI and GPIO, USB Type-C, DisplayPort and HDMI Connector.

“iWave maintains a product life plan that ensures modular systems have a useful life of more than 10 years,” iWave said.
