Jensen Huang Responds to Questions about Considering Cooperation with Changxin Memory

Sunday,Oct 25,2026

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated that there is currently no indication that the memory market will experience oversupply in 2029. He also pointed out that US export restrictions on China's semiconductor industry have accelerated the development of China's independent chip technology and manufacturing capabilities.

During an interview at NVIDIA's GTC Berlin conference on October 22nd, Huang stated that with the continued development of artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, market demand for memory will remain strong. "Memory has a significant advantage: you can always use more memory," Huang said, indicating that High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) will continue to play a crucial role for many years to come. He also mentioned that NVIDIA has introduced Low Power Double Data Rate (LPDDR) memory into data centers, improving the energy efficiency of related systems, and will continue to use this type of memory extensively in the future.

Meanwhile, market concerns that the AI ??boom may cool down, leading to oversupply of memory due to new production capacity, have put pressure on global memory-related stocks. The new design architecture announced by China's Changxin Memory Technologies (CXMT) has exacerbated market concerns about industry competition—an architecture expected to improve memory efficiency and potentially further erode market share from SK Hynix, Samsung Electronics, and Micron.

When asked if Nvidia was considering collaborating with CXMT and using its memory products, Jensen Huang stated, "We are open. We work with Chinese companies; in fact, almost every company globally has some link in its supply chain with a Chinese company." Huang also noted that China's strength in infrastructure technology and its leading global manufacturing capabilities necessitate a serious assessment of China's industrial strength.

Regarding the progress of China's semiconductor industry, Huang believes that US export controls have accelerated China's pace of developing independent chip technology and manufacturing capabilities. He stated that China's semiconductor development "has definitely accelerated because of all these regulatory measures," and related policies have also driven China to accelerate the self-sufficiency of its semiconductor manufacturing capabilities and increase support for the industry.
