Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) recently announced the release of the TSM41, a new series of industrial-grade, multi-turn surface-mount metal-ceramic trimmer potentiometers. Designed for space-constrained applications in harsh environments, the Vishay Sfernice TSM41 series features a footprint of just 4 mm x 4 mm, an operating temperature range of -55°C to +140°C, and an IP67 sealing rating.
Compared to the previous generation, the newly released trimmer potentiometers offer a 42% reduction in size, allowing designers to save board space and optimize packaging density. Furthermore, the TSM41 series can trim over a wide resistance range from 10 W to 1 MW and offers faster setting speeds than single-turn trimmer potentiometers. Rated for 0.25 W at +85°C, the devices offer both top and side adjustment options, providing flexibility to meet diverse design requirements.
The TSM41 series can be mounted directly on the PCB, supporting automated PCB assembly and setup processes, improving production efficiency while reducing time and costs. The trimmer potentiometers are fully sealed to withstand standard circuit board cleaning processes, ensuring reliability in welding equipment, power tools, smoke detectors, and HVAC systems.
